How many times have you picked up a magazine to only find out which Hollywood star is in and out of rehab this time? It is enough to makes you think that these rehab centers do not know what they are doing if these people have to keep admitting themselves back in again. In most of these cases, it is not the residential treatment centers fault that these stars are not able to maintain their sobriety, it is their choice to continue to out themselves in the same situations that got them started with their addictions in the first place.

When you choose to change your ways and get clean, the last thing that you are going to want to do is put yourself in temptations way. You are just asking for a slip up if you do that. There will come a time later in your life where you maybe able to face your previous addiction in the face and maintain your strength, but not everyone manages to reach this point, so it is just better to make wise choices.
If you think that telling people that you are or have been to rehab is disgraceful or you are embarrassed, which you should not be, you can look at it as a residential treatment center.
Residential treatment centers help people as they find their way back to the life they had before their addiction. These centers have two different residential program lengths in place so far. The first type is short-term treatment that is usually around thirty days or so and focuses on the physical symptoms that come with getting clean as well as looking at the psychological reasons behind their addiction. Patients are sometimes given some form of medication in order to help them through this experience.
When you choose to go in for long-term residential treatment you still go through the same process as the short-term treatment, but you get more time to work on the areas that you need help in. They also offer a variety of other residential substance abuse programs that will help you from relapsing in the future.
Nobody knows better then you which treatment program will work best for you. If you are a person that needs a lot of support and encouragement along the way then it is going to be more beneficial for you to stay longer and work on the new foundation that is your sobriety.
Whereas, if you a strong natured person or someone that had one slip up and wanted to get a little help getting through this experience then you will probably be just fine only going to a short-term treatment program. You have to make the decision to get better.
